Involvement in the initiation of the China Red Ribbon Foundation

In 2005, the Heungkong Charitable Foundation participated in the sponsorship of the China Red Ribbon Foundation and pledged RMB 30 million, actively engaging in the prevention and treatment of AIDS, participating in the relief and resettlement of infants and children affected by AIDS, and carrying out AIDS awareness and education activities.

The China Red Ribbon Foundation mainly focuses on supporting AIDS prevention and treatment work in areas of high HIV prevalence and in poverty-stricken remote areas, provides assistance to AIDS-affected groups, and carries out a series of awareness-raising and education activities targeting university students, migrant workers and pregnant women, thereby forming a distinctive project of assistance, funding and awareness-raising. The Foundation, with a total investment of RMB 210 million, has directly benefited more than 1.8 million people, which have been affirmed by relevant government departments and unanimously recognized by the wider society.
