Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County, adjacent to Tajikistan and Afghanistan, is a state-level impoverished county which lacks educational resources and Chinese teachers and faces terrorist threats. In response to the national strategies of “One Belt and One Road” and “Targeted Poverty Alleviation”  and for the purpose of helping improve pre-school education conditions in ethnic minority areas in China, the Heungkong Charitable Foundation and the Shenzhen Jiuteng Culture Foundation launched a strategic teaching support project in September 2016, which has donated over RMB 820,000 to sponsor 24 students from Xinjiang Tajik for receiving pre-school education professional training in Shandong Wendeng Normal School.

Over the past three years, the Foundation was consistently focusing on and taking practical actions to vigorously support the project in terms of education, life and employment. In July 2019, the 24 Tajik students successfully graduated from the school, and under the communication and coordination of the Foundation and the local government, they returned to Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County to serve as kindergarten teachers, bringing Chinese education and modern thinking to more Tajik children and thereby fundamentally changing the backward state of enlightenment education for children in Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County.

This project is a concrete manifestation of the Foundation's practical action to support the national strategy of “One Belt and One Road”, and a positive response made in the form of public welfare. It not only profoundly changed the fate of the 24 Tajik students, but also opened a new era for the local education. As for the national strategy of "One Belt and One Road”, Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County is the key to China's westward journey and as well as the only route to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. May children be angels on the westbound journey.
